Does typing 'ta' and 'dis' really save you a whole lotta time over typing 'to' and 'this'? Or do you think it makes you sound cool? :love2:

Exeddy is a good manufacturer that usually makes clutches for other people to slap thier name on. Exeddy has a good rep as an OEM manufacturer in Japan, but they also make racing clutches for lots of makes and models.

daikin clutches are excellent. Definitely a better alternative for a stock replacement. They have a 10-25% higher holding capacity over stock so they are semi-performance. if you dont' wail on it, they would be adequate for a KLZE swap.

Keep in mind, our 1.8's come with the same clutch the PGT's came with, so saying that a "stock" clutch wouldn't hold up to a KL-DE or KLZE (which is 25whp more than the de) is not very accurate. Unless you can't drive a stick worth a crap most OEM clutch replacments could easily last a good 60,000 miles with a ZE swap. Exedy definitely would be worth it.

SO lemme ask one more question. 93-97 Ford probe GT trannys and mx-3 trannies are the same right(standard)? SO a clutch for a probe GT should fit the mx-3 right? Found a good deal on a clutch and just making sure this is right before i spend my money

you'll just need to get your flywheel refaced as the Probe clutch is around 10mm bigger in diameter than the stock mx3.

i have an exedy on my ze. ask yourself how realistically it is that you will actually make 25% torque over stock and you'll know u might(more likely not) only need a stage 1 for a fully built na kl. whats so cool about having an excessive clutch? do u really have that much power that requires the act?? imo, its pointless, overdone and paying extra for unneeded torque capacity that nobody has ever surpassed unless boosting more than 7-8 psi on a 2.5 kl.

if u like it go for it. spinning your wheels through gears will only slow you down

and your clutch spinning against your flywheel will only glaze it and make it not work, i will take a bit slower over having to yank the clutch after a short time

Agreed with the last comment. The ACT clutches are expensive but in my opinion are worth it. If im going to put a lot of money into an engine and tranny im not going to put a clutch that will be ok as long as im nice to it. Most people with more horse arent very nice sometimes.

would u get a walbro 225 for your stock k8? or how about putting a 4 x 1000 watt amp to your 4 6.5 inch speakers? obviously no so... is it so u can chirp 4th gear in your k8? tell me, why would u get a clutch thats rated for probably 2-4 times more power than your ever gonna make?? also what advantage do u have by having the overly excessive clutch. im not talking about torque capacity not pedal pressure. if every possible bolt on was used on k8 it will not exceed 15% more torque than stock. a mint 2.5 kl might but probably wouldnt make more than 15-20% more power over stock. as long as you're not making more power than the clutch can handle it and wont slip unless u have other issues.

only reason i can see having the over excessive clutch is if i have near future plans of boosting more than 9#'s.

yea, but how bout a K8 vs a KL-ZE? i would rather spend the extra cash and be sure my clutch can take it

but still even with a KL-ZE why would you need such an agressive clutch if you not boosting and just going n/a, i can speak on the excedy clutches because i'm using one right now myself in my kf-ze, and yes i know my enging doesn't make the power the kl-ze does but in my opinion that clutch is amazing even though its an oem replacement its still has 25% more holding capacity, i also have a friend with a turbocharged gsr using an excedy clutch for a while now and still no slipping, i love my clutch grips smooth and beautiful no problems what so ever, unless your going for boost in the future then wait till that point to get the act clutch because it makes no sense to have it now, just go with the excedy

Quick question im doing a ZE swap so would the MX-3 V6 5sp fit on there? if so could i use a Mx-6 Aluminum Flywheel with an MX-6 Clutch? Need to know before i blow any money.
