custom exhaust

I'm getting an engineering shop to make up an exhaust for me anyone know the best size 2 1/4" is what i'm hearing but what measurment is it and what's the best material to use??

It's the diameter of the pipe. Stainless steel should last the life of the car.

I forgot to say they said they could use carbon fibre or kevlar too if i wanted to save weight

Surprise to me; I wouldn't have thought they had the heat resistance. Did they say the cost difference?
