Today in ottawa was pretty hot out and in the middle of the day my idle jump to 2000 rpm and would stay there for whole day is it normal?
You do not need to press gas it would pull it self, when it cooled a bit after I shut it off it was back to normal. Never had that happened before. Was driving for 15 min and all that time it stayed at 2000. what is it could be. And fen was not working all that time.

What I find is that anything that taxes the electrical system causes the computer to set the idle RPM higher to keep up with demand. The fan running is a big one on hot days, I'll bet the fan was running a lot more than you thought it was, today was pretty hot out.<p>Mine was doing the same, but once I got out on the highway and it got some air in a fast stretch the next slowdown I hit the RPMs were back to normal .... not sure but I think it's common/normal behavior with these cars.

I had sort of that same problem. Mine does not do anything funny anymore.

was not on because mine does not work. That only happened at a stop. I don't know if I did anything to fix it, but it's fine now.

on hot days, mine idles normal, but if kick on the A/C it goes up to 2grand... but I love it. I keep telling myself it's a great feature b/c when I'm at stereo shows, I just crank the A/C to cool the car off and at the same time its at 2grand so my batter is charging... I get the best of both worlds w/ 1 lil button.

my idle was exactly like yours lucky, we replaced some hose. i'm sorry i forget which. it was kinked though so the airflow was semi blocked resulting in massive shaking and a funky idle.

My V6 does the same regardless of outside temperature and regardless of whats running: If you blip the throttle or come to a stop, the engine revs settle at 1500 rpm for about 20 seconds and then goes down to 850rpm. This happens every time. It also makes very slow driving in trafic uncomfortable

try putting antifreeze and or water in your radiator and see if it leaks. my radiator cap broke and my idle kept jumping. i got a new cap and its perfect.

What were you syptoms? was the idle jump like a predictable 2 stage idle like i described above?

Not really it would just go strait up to 2000 rpm when I would drive in stop and go for about 20 min on really hot day otherwise it is normal, it is very uncomfortable to drive in traffic with rpms staying so high, but I guess it is normal.
