Unused electrical connector?

Post by Protonus »

Hi I have a friend with a Mx-3 we did a KLZE swap in.
On the left front side of the engine bay, near the windshield washer pump, is a 4 pin white electrical connector, that is not plugged into anything. It comes out of the same harness that is used for the "grounding strip" that is on the body there.
The wire colors (I think.. boy your cars have a lot of shades of green, lol) are:
Light Green
Pink
Green/Black
Green/Yellow
I searched through the whole electrical manual on this site and saw nothing that looks like it, or any wires matching those color specs together.
It's a 4 pin connector, 2x2 so the pins are in ia "square". terminals are about a 1/4 wide.. you know relay sized or so.
Any idea what this is for? thanks.

sounds like the front oxygen sensor plug, the only connectors that arent used are teh egr ones if u arent gonna run egr and i believe that connector is orange, if its not the oxygen sensor then look on the tranny bc there is 3 connectors from the tranny that need to be plugged in

I've got a 4-pin white connector on mine as well. Nothing plugged into it. No other harness near it either. It's in the corner on the left hand side between the strut tower and the firewall...

does it look like it was plugged in before you did the swap - like are the terminals clean or dirty? I've got one and my car is non a/c - is it that?

Take a poll guys with a/c and guys without.
whos plugged and who isn't.
I have no a/c and that connector is unplugged.

I believe my friend DOES have A/C though. The terminals are corroded. however, the car has sat pretty much 90% of the time since we finished the swap.. he hardly ever drives it. The wires seem to be too short to go to anything, like whatever they plugged into just aren't there.
Oh well I'll double check on the a/c thing. As long as we're not the only car with it unplugged I doubt it's a problem.
Thanks.

I went out and took a closer look at mine tonight, it's a 4-pin connector, but with only 3 wires going to it
