So my 94gs 1.8L Manual went through another belt, i took it to our good freinds at Crappy Tire and they said i need a new harmonic balancer (why they cant just replace the pully i dont know) now here's what bothers me, a good freind a work who knows a little more about the subject said that only automatic cars use harmonic balancers, Can ANYONE shed some light on this issue for me cause it's hurting my wallet big time

i dont think harmonic balancer is used on only autos, it supposed to "align" your crankshaft i believe, making it vibration free.

Unorthodox Racings FAQ section mentions that most late modle cars no longer use harmonic balancers. But don't quote me on that.....I'd look there and see.
