People have mixed opinions on that subject. I personally like the pre-93 interior sytle. It consists of "racing" style front seats, a different style dash, and better looking back seats. The newer ones have little round air vents on the dash(not to mention a totally diffent style gauge unit), and more family car looking front seats. Some have weird looking back seats too.
[ June 07, 2003: Message edited by: mx3man83 ]

it depends what kind of swap you want to do.
If you want to do 4 cylinder turbo then get a 4 cylinder RS
If you want a 2.5L KLZE V6 swap then get the 6 cyl GS.
Either way dont get a 1996, they have OBD II computers and arnt easy to convert to different engines.
Mine is a 95, The ZE droped right in, so did the computer, no mods needed to make anything work, if you get a 93 or older then there may be issues with the sensors on the engines. look in the v6 faq for info on the swap.
The 93 GS SE has leather seats, and the front seats are heated, its the only yeas this was offered.
Its tough to say which is best because each car has different options and different interior colours, I suggest you go to used car dealers and ceck out different MX-3s and see which one YOU like best.

I have to say that I am not sure about the US models, but besides the engine (According to just about everyone, trying to swarp a 4 cylinder to the 6 cylinder is a NOT worth trying), there's also a question about equipment.
In Europe the 4 cylinder model have manual windows and mirrors and no sunroof. All of which are standard in the 6 cylinder version.
That was one of the major reasons that I chose the V6,, besides that it runs like a dream and sounds even better :)
Ohh This reminds me that I saw a 1993 SE on E-bay a month ago, so they're out there and they can be bought.

I'm swapping a BPT into a 6 cylinder model. Its not as hard as it seems. YOu just swap the crossmember and engine mounting pionts from an RS over and voila.

And I never knew that the 93 SE had heated seats!! are they all heated? where is the switch for turning them on off? I bought some at a junkyard and didn't know that! i need the swithc :(
