thermo spacer install now bad idle

I just installed my IM thermo spacers today and now my idle is wacked. start up is fine until it warms up. Then it revs at like 1 rpm just barely clinging to life. Still it is drivable and incident free but is a tad weak. As soon as I reach a red light it dies (embarrassing having to restart as light turns green) so I'm guessing vacuum leak. All my lines and hoses seem in tact so where's the last place I would think of checking that I haven't yet?
On the plus side....the spacers work at keeping my IM cooler, but until I get this problem fixed I can't declare any real success. Thanks

It does sound like vacuum leak. Try to spray a little brake cleaner in to the tb. on idle, if rpm goes up you have a leak, if it does not, then.........?
[ May 17, 2003: Message edited by: Gabi ]

Update.....I ripped it all out and started over...my lost power is now restored when I'm driving but now as soon as I come to a stop it just dies entirely.

Vacuum leak, check around the phenolic spacers for a leak. If you have a propane torch just start the motor and wave the tip around the IM runners near the heads (unlit but with propane on). Or you could just rub some silicone sealant around where the IM and phenolic spacers meet, and just make sure your bolts are torqued properly and not over tightened either.

okay....looks like I'm pulling it off again....I can hear it pretty loud. if I unplug my cruise control hose it will continue to idle....badly....bad as soon as I plug the hose in again it's instant death. But I can definately hear it hissing from around the runners so I guess that's it. this has proved to be an annoying weekend. Incidently...am I using the right gasket sealant? Permatex Form A Gasket No.2BR. I felt it when the engine was hot and it seemed very soft.
