New Motor In, Keeps dying out.

Post by Zoso124 »

Well I just got the new motor in, it started up for a second then died, did this multiple times. Used a timing light and have it set to about 10 degrees. The damn thing keeps flooding. I can take out the plugs and dry them and it will start for a second and thats it. I never used these injectors rails before only thing I can think of is maybe one of the injectors are stuck open. Any ideas???

I'm using DE heads with the Millenia Intake Manifold, the EGR is
mounted on the block but the metal tube coming into it from the
exhaust is cut and bent shut. The line where it use to run back
into the intake stops where the hits the intake gasket since I'm
using the Millenia intake, I still have the vaccum lines running
from the EGR and the wiring harnass connected to it. Could this be
my problem?

Wrong VAF.
Shorted water temp sender.
Disconnected oil pressure sender.
Massive vacuum leak.

hmmm...so you think he is running a MAF instead ? The stock 1995 U.S millinia does use a MAF. Are you using the MX-3 VAF ? What ECU are you using ? The J-spec KL-62 is the only Ecu you can run with a MAF.(or a US OBDII ecu.) KL-36 (bigletters) KL31 small letters are for an auto or manual transmission with a VAF. KL31 Big letters = Manual transmission only with a VAF. Mazdamaniac ...is it true that the 2.5 Probe and Mx-6 VAF is the same JE50 as what we run on the 1.8? ...I heard it was, another fourm said it was different. sorry more questions then answers. the above info may not be correct as it was taken from another post. I have the KL-36 ecu and the Mx-3 VAF. Still installing mine.<p>Cage

Jeff, I will try the KL VAF when I get down to my parents to tonight, Oil pressure sensor is connected, I'm using the filler neck from a 94 PGT so it has the same amount sensors as the MX-3, have you ever used a vaccum guage? I have one, not sure what it should read on this motor though.
