I know this might be a stupid question...but could a small intercooler work better than intake?

All an intercooler is for is to lower the temperature of the intake charge. The only reason it's used on a turbo/supercharger setup is because the turbo and SC heat the air. If you put an I/C on an N/A engine it would only be able to cool the air to the temperature of ambient, but then you are already taking ambient air into the car. It would be basically useless.

I dont really like the PRM intake, its not loud at all. Well, i heard it on my friend's probe KLZE. Wasnt' any louder than stock. Of course, if you like it quiet, then i guess that'd be the best..

Sound is a form of energy. So that sound coming from your intake is energy loss that could be going to your tires. HKS and Weapon R may sound cool but they will not give you the same results as the PRM.
