Sup peeps,
Alright today I went out and bought a vaf from a 93 v6 626. Installed it in my car. So as of now I am running the 2.5 litre ecu (mx6) and the 2.5 VAF (626). In just a few days after I use up a full tank of gas I will let everyone know the mileage and if my cel is resolved.
Mileage with klze, 1.8 VAF and 2.5 ecu appoximately 16-17 mpg - averaged out over 3 tanks. Mostly highway driving (90%+)
I'll post the mileage with the 2.5 (kl02) vaf in less then a week.
later,

was it simply pulling out old plug and pluggin in new vaf? when pulling out the plug, did all of those sensors and prongs show up? i messed with my MAF once and tried plugging it back in and it broke.

The harness to the old VAF fits directly on the 2.5 litre VAF. As long as you press the release clip it slides off easy.

I was told that the fuel mappins on the ZE are closer to the 1.8L EVU than the 2.5L ECU is.
Try the 1.8L witht he 2.5L VAF, see if you feel more power.

I am looking for a 1.8 ecu from a wreckers, but they all want to charge 125 dollars or more. My ultimate goal is to run the ze ecu...but am having problems finding it locally.
And the VAF is not the same. Just the harness and the connector.

aspec just swapped me the 1.8 ecu for the 2.5 ecu. I didn't care at the time because I thought the 2.5 would be better. Well, as for getting a ze ecu...there is always elprototypes.com but thats 350 american... I have a source in guelph courtesy of aaronthehic, and its like 350-400 canadian.
Anyway after trying out the 2.5 vaf. All of the hesitation is gone, and it seems faster, acceleration is improved. And when it is cold out (-13 right now) it idles at the appropriate rpm till it is warmer. Around 1700 rpms or so. I haven't went through a full tank yet so I havent calcualated the mileage.
later.
