Oil & Water On Plug Wires

I cleaned under my hood at a car wash today. After the spray treatment, I noticed that my check engine light came on. This has happened before. I just figured that I got something wet that wasn’t supposed to be wet. The light usually goes out after 15 minutes or so. After an hour of this I decided to get back under the hood. Everything looked dry. So then I pulled the spark plug wires. I noticed water on one of the wires and oil (!) on another. I’ve pulled the wires before and never noticed anything like that before. I’m freaked to say the least! I’ve read the other posts about the engine life of these 1.8 V6’s. I’m wondering if this engine is near death, how much will it cost to be fixed and so on. I killed an Infinity G20 back in 96 and I don’t want to see this car go the same way. :(

water means you got water in the hole when you sprayed, oil means the valve cover seal has/is going its like $20 for the seal about 20 minutes of work for the front, 2-3 hours for the back. see how to pull engine codes in the v6 faq section to see if anything is really wrong :) .
