I am moving to calgary in 2 to 3 months, and i know this winter is over but i was wondering with the winters in calgary if you can get around with 17 inch rims on. If not what do you suggest. I have 14 inch rims now and i want to sell them and get 17's. Or should i get a smaller rim and get all season tires???? And i don't have the money to keep my 14's and put them on in replace on the 17's for winter time.
Thanks for you help!!

Get 16" wheels, you will have to buy all-season tires for them, otherwise you will never get around in the winter.
[ April 14, 2003: Message edited by: jpwmx3 ]

Most low-profile tires I see claim to be all season but we all know that is bullsh*t.
For the first time this year I drove around with my 17"s all winter, wasn't the greatest but I survived, only really got stuck once trying to get up my driveway.

too bad you couldn't keep your 14's you could put winters on them and switch

Everyday driving, yes some winter, want to last fairly long, can't think of any other related questions when you pick a tire size

205/55/16 is too big. it would be 24.9" and stock is 23.9". Should get 205/50/16 which is 24.1" .
Stock is 205/55/15.
Get KUMHO KW-15 205/50/16
[ April 15, 2003: Message edited by: jpwmx3 ]

keep the 14's for winter tires.
i picked up some used 15's (winter) michelin's, for 200 bucks - that's all 4 and they have been great for edmonton's winter roads.
joe
