I just got my 94 GS a couple weeks ago for $850. It has a 175k on itand it seems to be running good. My question is what is the average life span of the 1.8 GS motor? How many miles does yours have? Am i gonna need a new motor very soon? [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]

my 1.8 lasted till bout 115k.. the previous owner of your car must of taken good care of her. If the motor does go.. do the swap.

It should last well over 200k if you continue to maintain it properly. I tore down my K8DE at 106k miles, and the bores had the factory crosshatching on them, the heads had no buidup on them, and all the bearing surfaces were clean without scoring.

188K and i always drive it like i stole it! the water sleves and bottom end are bullet proof!!! 1.8l bore on a block thats build for a 2.5l... Makes it only 130 horse on parts that are built for 200 horse. makes for a damn good motor!!!

165,000 on mine, it runs great

There (motors)very tempermental about oil changes. Keep it fresh and it will keep on going like the energizer battery <BR> And read as many posts as you can to learn all about your new car.<BR>Andy P. 93 GS 120,000 miles

My 94 gs has 240,000 km's on it, and i havent had to fix the engine yet. It runs great, just keep changing the oil.

got about 115K on my '83... have had a ed distributor cap replaced... also was warned to replace the timing belt before the clock struck 100k as the difference in cost was minimal to replace the belt as opposed to the alternatives... presume this means every 100k or so...

I've got about 170,000Kms on mine. Still runs great but I did a compression test and noticed that it's close to the minimum. Almost time for a rebuild. I think it's the rings and maybe the valves aren't sitting the best anymore. I still love that car.

mine has about 134K on it. Runs Strong! Pulled a 16.5 all stock (except the interior). not bad for a car that runs 16.8's stock <P>I get a small amount of HLA noise, but its not noticable unless your trying to listen for it.

Mine has 344,000KM on it and it runs great.<BR>Just keep the oil changes on time.
