Idle Jumping?

Ok I know I seen it somewhere on this forum where you jump the "ten and grd" on the diag terminal and set the idle screw and the KLZE will stop jumping from 500 to 1500 rpms. My question is, since I can't find that post, Do you start it and jump it while it is running, or turn it off jump it and then start it?

Going to try this tomorrow
Posted on www.probetalk.com by Omaha95PGT

The screw thing on top of the TB is just the idle adjust screw. The TPS is the "throttle position sensor" You have to loosen 2 screws on it and then rotate the whole sensor slightly. I'll take a picture of mine and put it up in the Pics and Vid section. Here's a link that explains the whole TPS adjustment thing.
http://www.rs-productions.com/RSP_M...e ... tps.htm
If you do this you should be good to go.
Here's the accompanying picture in the Pic forum.
http://www.probetalk.com/forums/sho...a ... 1006217

Make sure your problem does not lie in the vacuum hose that goes from the brake booster to the intake manifold. The K8 an ZE use different length hoses and since I used a different hose, I did not realize that the original hose had a one way check valve in it and so for a few months, I had to set my idle at 1100 to keep it from jumping from 500 to 1500. Finally I got the idea to swap the original hose back and BAM! It idles perfectly. It was so Stupid of me to miss that! Oh well, it's fixed now.

Check valve? Really? Where on the intake manifold did you plug the hose into if you used the same hose?

damn i will be in san antonio on the 22-24...sorry i cannot come up the the money to fix it that quick....no what was causing it to overheat was a fuked up radiator cap....replaced it....THEN a couple of days later i noticed that the freaking radiator hose had a tear in it when i got to school (45miles from my home)...when i got home i had to goto work so i stopped by o'riley and auto zone to get the hose....but both had to order it...so instead i bought some sort of tape to wrap around the hose that keeps up to like 100 psi....on my way to work the temp started to rise...i turned on the heater and the temp went back to normal....then it went up again so i dropped my car off at a buddys hose a couple of blocks from work and was going to put the tape on the hose after everything cooled down....well i got back a couple of hours later and wrapped the hose in that stuff and let it set for like an hour....then i drove home....stupid me for drinking(friend had a lil halloween party) that i forgot to put water in the system(although there was some still in the reservior)...DUH!!!!... so on my way home i noticed that the temp gauge hadnt moved a bit...NONE....so i put on the heater and NO heat was comming out...i thought that was strange...well i let my car sit over the weekend and got the hose in and replaced it....but then i noticed there was was looked like oil in the coolant system and white smoke was coming out of the exhaust...so i figured that i blew it....but i still need to run a compression and leak down test...
AJ

put the old brake line on with the check valve in it.. I didn't fix the problem. I double checked all vaccume lines, so I guess I will have to adjust the TPS now... Any other Ideas?
