Probe/MX6 (KL-03) engines have 164-167HP
JSpec (KL-ZE) have 200HP
all these info can be found on mx3.com under engine swap or just do a search.
Hope that helps ^^

i think that any engine in which you lower compression will lose power, but you mitigate(check that word! :D ) the power loss by adding forced induction. Lower compression engines handle boost better.

Sean Matthews, aka streetimports.com has a klze turbo, with like 6-8 lbs of boost daily driven, mx3gsr links dont work ya gotta look at the task bar and just type em in after his main page

I tried that link, and all I got was porn, but I would like to know how much a turbo system for the ZE would be

You can make a "junkyard" custom turbo for under $1500 but if you want a "new" custom it'll prolly be around $2000+ (don't hold me to that tho)

I think that a turbocharged Kl-Ze belonging to an automatic version with the kl pistons to lower the compression would be a better choice than adding a gasket to a Ze, or to turbocharge a Kl. Remember that the Kl-ze has bigger intake valves, harder valve springs and the auto one has the cams with less overlap than the stick tranny one (kl versus kl31). There is a 2.3 supercharged miller engine found in Xedos ( If I´m not confused). I think that adding it´s MAF sensor and ECU to this combo should make it work with all Mazda materials, but I doubt that the electrycal harness is shared between the 2.5´s and 2.3´s, for what I found out in the Chilton´s book
