engin light

my engin light came on while driving on the highway about 110Km, when i got home i checked my wires and everything else that you would. what i am woundering is will a clogged catalitic converter trip the engin light. mine is giving off a foul oder<P>thanks<BR>lee

it could probably be a million things, my mom never had the gas cap on our minivan on tight enough and the engine light was on hahaha

go to V6 FAQ and check out check engine light codes posted by mazdamaniac, its got everything on how to check your codes to what all the codes are for, do that first.
