sticking brake calipers

Can you fix a sticking caliper or do you have to buy another one.

It could be fixed but the general recommendation is to replace with a remanufactured one.<BR>Another recommendation I have read is that you replace as an axel set i.e. if the left back is replaced, replace right back also + pads.

The rear calipers are notorious for sticking. The main reason is because the insides of the slides are rusted and full of crap. You can replace the slides or take them out and sand them smooth then pack them full of caliper lube. Or you best bet is to buy rebuilt calipers but they cost a mint, they run $70 a piece for the rear and $35 a piece for fronts at Autozone. Piston can also be a problem but 90% of the time is the slides.<P>Good Luck

At your Mazda dealer order a set of new gaskets for the caliper and rebuild it. <BR>It will solve the problem

What is a caliper gasket?<P>do you mean piston seal?
