Hissing sound while turning...

Hissing sound while turning...
Last night I heard a hissing sound while I turned. This morning I drive to work and the sound is gone! I'm confused... I thought it was the power steering fluid but could it be something else? I haven't checked the fluid but I'm about to. Just haven't got around to it yet. Any ideas?
