Ok on my 93 Mx-3 Gs i have two little buttons of some sort on the doors they say touch on both of them and there right by the back of the door....<BR>i took off the door pannel and there is a wire going from them to the door pannel..<BR>pleas help out and tell me what there for..

the touch button is meant to stop you shocking yourself when exiting the car. it's grounded and stops the static electricity from giving you that little shock. obviously you need to touch it before you start getting out of the car. and no, i'm not kidding!!

lol, you don't 'need' to touch it. I neer touch it and i never get a shock.

I just saw this posted a few weeks ago and now I try to remember when I leave the car. I've been getting shocked for years.

I do get shocked...does this happen to anyone else...I mean sometimes it really hurts.. But i always forget to touch it..

I get shocked every once in a while, but jeez pumpkin, its only a little static electricity. Besides that, I don't know if they (buttons) actually work, Anybody touch them on a regular basis ?

Ya this topic has been around for years. I don't think anyone ever touches it. The only time you think to touch it is right after you get shocked. Only time I seemed to get shocked is in the winter because it is so damn dry up here in the North East.

It Works. I used to get shocked everytime, but since I've been using the touch button, not even once. Oh yah, it happens more with the cloth seats and depending what material your clother are made from. When you move around in your seat while driving, you create static electricity and when you touch something metal, you build a circuit and get a little shock. Use it, it works.

not all precidia have this little "toutch" things...i think its 1992-1993...

I try to use the touch thing, but I end up shocking myself on something in the door handle (on the inside). I give up.

I've never been shocked, and I have no clue what button you're talking about.

The "Touch" button is near the end of each side door on the fabric, about 1" long and about 1/4" high, and all it says on it is "Touch". Silly little thing, but it works.
