What should the RPM be at while the car is in "P" or "D" while stopped in an auto GS. My RPM is usually at about 300-500 and I get the "CHARGE" light on, but when I gass it and at about 1000 RPM, the light dissapears. I my idle off, should it be set higher??

The idle speed for the 4 cylinder is 700-800 in park, 640-700 for the 6 cylinder. Sounds like you need to adjust it up.<P>Good luck!

I agree with spawns post in referance to the hoses. My baby was idling low with a noticeable hissing sound coming from the front right. It was a couple of vaccume hoses that had come loose. Normal Idle when cold should be anywhere fom 900 to 1200 RPMs and when warm should be 600 to 900. Also make sure that you have regular maintenance done too. Hope I could help and good luck!
