i am just wondering if anyone knows if the KL_ZE engine is street legal in Albany, NY?? thanks

As i understand it, even some mazda mechanics can't tell the difference between the KL-ZE and and the 1.8, so as long as it doesn't set off any smog detectors it should be fine. but that's just a guess.

what about the fact that it doesn't have an EGR??

The EGR's shut off when the car is at full throttle in K engines anyways...as long as you pass emmissions, you should be okay...just make sure you have a cat on there when you go through.

is it possible to use the egr of the k8 engine on the ZE ?

Well I think they mean if it will pass emisions and stuff like that.
I'm not that good in english myself but after the swap I should do APK (I dont know how you call it over there)
But I will not let them check.
