MX-3.com

Its not life or death, but it seems like the mx-3 is a great source of static electricity. I get shocked all of the freigen time in it!! I know that the "Hold" or "touch"(cant remember exactly what it says) on the door has something to do with that crap...anyoone else share this curse, know how to cure it??

that button is supposed to stop you from getting shocked, if you touch it, it should discarge your static electricity or something. i dunno, i've never been shocked by my MX.

the "touch" button is an absolute life-saver. i was constantly getting shocked getting out of my car until i discovered its use. the trick is to open the door then as you are getting out keep a finger on the button until your feet are out of the seat... you can actually feel the discharge of static energy sometimes. it takes a while to get in the habit, but you will never get shocked again.

AAAhhh i will certainly try that...anyone know why the mx-3 is liek that? Ive never heard of another car that has that problem...

lol, you guys are nuts. I've never been shocked in my car nor anyone else’s car .

I get shocked all the time, in any car, in the winter. I know that that touch button is for that...but that damn button is way to small. Everytime i try to touch it getting out of the car i practicly fall on my face. My conclusion is that i'd rather get a shock than a bloody face!

I used to get shocked in my '94 RS (until I started using the touch button) but in the '92 GS I have now it hasn't been an issue. I wonder if it is an RS/GS issue?

Only been shocked once in my rs, I HATE that touch button, don't really have a valid reason, its just there, so I hate it. But its funny that you brought this topic up yesterday cause I got shocked more times yesterday than I ever had in one day in my whole life, stoopid winterbeater.

i get shocked when i get out of my mx3, and this has NEVER happened in any other car!! I know it sounds weird, but its true.

i have never gotten shocked from my car, sometimes i just touch the "touch" button for the hell of it meh<p>

94GS - was getting shocked on a regular basis (every time I drove) until about a year ago someone asked what that touch button was for. Now I get out of the car, touch the button, THEN hold up the metal handle of the door and close it. Haven't been shocked since.

Where is this touch button,I don't see a touch button or shock button anywhere
