Does sohc stand for single over-head cam and dohc stand for dual ohc?? JUst curious for that question?Which mx3 has 8 valves and whats the hp in it and a 16 valve,what hp does that have?

8 valves? i thought the 4 cyl. mx3 has 16, and the v6 has 24. the 4 cyl. has 8 hp, and the v6 has 130hp<P>justin

I know the 4cyl has 16 valves and the 6 cyl has 130hp but i've read in a manuel that there is a 8 valve 4 cyl.What would be the difference in sohc and dohc in a 4 cyl 16 valve mx3 in hp or speed???.

Guys, slow down... there are two different engines which were used in the MX-3: A- SOHC=8valves=88hp & B- DOHC=16valves=105hp ; the V-6 is 24valves=130hp[in it's stock set-up]. I hope this clears any doubts...if not-ask Jarid!HEHEHE!!! Manny
