Having problems with my amp.

My amplifier is making noises. When I turn up the bass on the amp, the subs start to pop in an out really fast and making noise at the same time. What can I do to stop this.

also make sure ur rca's are on the opposite side if the car

But I hooked up the same amplifier in a friend of mine's car and the promlem still persists. What is this???

try turning down the gains on your amp or the bass boost on your head unit. sounds like you might be clipping your amp.

hey what kind of amp, and how old is it? It could as menyioned above..just be your levels. Just turn everything down and start from there! I fnot it could be your subs?....have you tried a different amp in your car yet?

If your amp is clipping its probably either wired up at a lower ohm level then its made for or, its got a bad ground. Try grounding it to bare metal. Sand off the paint and tighten the ground down onto the frame. If its still clipping make sure you have your sub/s wires at 4ohms and you should be safe since almost all amps are 4 ohms stable. It's probably a loose connection within the amp. If it still does the same thing in a different car then the problem has to lie within the amp.
