anyone know the amperage of the stock mazda alternator that is available in the mx-3?

and for you owners that have big systems in your cars....have suggestions for an aftermarket alternator? or should i just head down and have mine re-wound...

you could probably go with the 2.5 alternator since the 1.8 will swap over i dont know what the amperage is though

the GS stock is 90 amps, the RS is 70 amps.

I got a 220 amp alternator from Iraggi Alternators. I don't regret it. His book had some contradictions in size for our car, but we worked through it and finally got it to work. And mzdspd on here even adapated the same one I have (for a 4 cyl) on the 6 cyl w/ an easy bracket. You won't find a stronger alternator for the money.

Tell him you heard it from me, and make sure he tells you about the adjustable regulator. I charged at 16volts for months before he told me how to get it back down to 14-15. I fried my battery that way

Alternators from J-spec 2.5 KL-ZE Millenias are 110 amps. ONLY the 2.5L MILLENIAS came with this Alternator.

sorry bumpnglow but i gotta tell em that alternator was easy to swap over but it died on me 3 times within a month and then i sold the car so who knows if it works now. was awsome when it worked though. 15.4v with no prob. my amps liked it

yah, we had lots of problems, but I got mine to work after the ...what 3rd time it went back to him?? But I think we got it all taken care of?? I don't know, I haven't had ANY problems w/ it since... *knocks on wood*
But as far as high output alternators, affordably, it's the ONLY option we have

Edit: and there will be no mention of rewound alternators in this thread b/c they are just crap. They can't take the heat and they WILL die... it's only a matter of time (dependant on how hard you run them)...

what alternator did mx6 klze come with?

i think it was a 95a one.

KLZE came with same 90a that we all have in our GS's
