Post by MX3Gurl »

Hey gang, i'm going to be replacing my OEM deck from my 95 MX-3 GS and was wondering if i need a kit (faceplate) to make it fit snug?
i'll be replacing it with an Alpine head unit CDM-7874.
oh, and yes i already bought the harness (makes it so much easier...) :)
Thanks again.

As the OEM headuint in my MX-3 is double DIN, if you install a single DIN sized headunit you may require a spaer of sorts to fill the gap. Theres are quite easy to get, if one is needed dont hesitate to get your headunit salseman to throw one in with the deal.

a single din sized unit will fit the single din sized opening provided you have the pocket that occupies the second din. Some radios in the mx (92-93's i suppose) came with a double din unit in which case you would need some sort of spacer/filler for the second (lower) din slot.
