What's up? I have the old Aiwa MP3 player...the CDC-Mp3...it skips a LOT when playing burned cd's. Any advice on how to stop this from happening? Any way i can insulate it or something? I talked to a person from Aiwa, and they said the laser is designed to read 74 minute CD's. Those do seem to skip less than the newer 80 minute CD's, but it's still annoying as hell. I'd like to fix this without buying a new stereo if possible, i'm trying to save some cash for other stuff...any advice? thanks

Make sure the back of the deck is also supported, if it already is then it seems like you might be out of luck. You said it was an older mp3 player, maybe you should only burn the 74 min CD's, or burn CD's on an mp3 platform, meaning not audio files but software. Instead of only 74 minutes, you will have 300 mega-bites, which is alot more music.
Hope this helps.

Don't listen to Ben Chinburg. That 300 mega BYTES he is talking about is a load of s---. Just take a regular cd-r (80min or 74min) and use about 60-70min, make sure your burning it in .wav format (I used <A HREF="

If i burn them in .wav's, they just turn into regilar CD's. When i burn mp3's, I can usually fit about 200 of them on 1 CD. I'll check to see how well the back of it is supported though. Thanks

with 74-80 min cd means the laser phiscally cant move past the 74 min mark all that should do is 80 min cd miss some mp3's are your cd's good quality....if they arent that could be a problem....i purchased a 200 pack and nothing wold burn right.....or maye the cdr is wabbling.....and that could cause the skipping
jason

If I think I read this right... you have an older MP3 CD Deck... since it's old get a lens cleaner, could be dust on your lens. OR maybe your CD's are scratched, but most people take care of their CD so I don't think so. I also agree with the last post about different makes of CD-R's, and sometimes software... my MP3 deck is suppose to scroll 30 characters, but it will only scroll 15 cause of a certain format of burnt CD.
