ohm problem!

i have a 400w 1-ohm stable amp pushing three dual voice coil 4-ohm tens in a series wiring configuration...how many ohms is that taking? for some reason, the clip keeps cutting in on my amp and turning it off...does anyone know what could be wrong?
!)<BR>if you meant series-parallel (each sub is wired to 8 ohm, then in paralleled to the amp)... then you are at 2.6ohms... <BR>This is all assuming that when you said your subs are dual voice coil 4 ohm subs, that each coil is 4 ohm.... if each sub is really dual 2 or dual 8 and you meant that you have them wired to 4 ohm already, then you are giving the amp 1.3ohms, which is as close as you will get...<P><BR>Hows that for confusing?
