Port position in Sub enclosure

For those of you who replied to my last post on this topics, thanx.<P>I decided to go with a ported design box and have completed most of the box, just need to cut the face/baffle piece and then cut holes for the subs.<P>1. where is a good place for the ports to go? on the face with the subs or should I put them on top so they fire more into the cabin?<P>2. I have 2 MTX 4000thunder 12" coming and was wondering what size to cut the holes for them or should I just wait for them to arrive and then go from there.<P>Thanx again

</STRONG><HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>Actually, the kewl thing about MTX is they will tell you how big the ports should be, where they should be located, and how long they should be. Also I believe it's an 11 3/4" hole for the subwoofer. I think you should actually aim the ports in the same direction that thge subs fire so they don't cross paths and cause cancelation.

yeah I decided on that because I realized the ports had to be about 11.5 inches long plus needed some clearance from the side so the base is longest and I decided to put them on the front.<BR>
