installing an alarm is fairly simple... it takes about 6-10 wires to be connected. Its really no harder than wiring an amp. Now if you're talking about a 3way system with a keyless entry and remote starter, thats about a 30 wire job and you have to worry about relays and such. The easiest alarm to install is the one bulldog makes, it has a 3 wire hookup!

WELL ALARMS CAN BE TRICKY DEPENDING ON THE ALARM.NOW, FIRST TO DO AN ALARM , YOU NEED TO GET A WIREING DIAGRAM OF THE CAR OR IF YOU CAN GET TEACH SOFT IT WILL TELL YOU WHAT WIRE IS WHAT,WERE IT IS & WHAT COLOR IT IS .THAT 3 WIRE ALARM IS S*IT . YOU WANT TO GET SOMETHING THAT HAS A LIST OF VERY INPORTANT FEATURES LIKE THE FOLOWING. "LAST DOOR ARMING, WITCH IS GOOD IF YOU FORGET TO HIT THE ARM BUTTON, BUT IF YOU HAVE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS IT WONT LOCK THE DOORS SAFTY FEATURE ,BUT YOU CAN PROGRAM THEM TO LOCK WITH IT IF YOU CHOOSE,CURRENT SENSING,FLASHING PARKING LIGHTS,FAILSAFE STARTER KILL,DUAL SHOCK SENSOR,TRANSMITTER VARIFICATION, SO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TRANSMITTERS ARE CODED TO YOUR SYSTEM,STATUS LED,ACTIVE / PASSIVE ARMING,NUISANCE PREVENTION,CODE HOPPING,AND DOOR TRIGER" THATS THE BASICS.NOW AN ALARM LIKE THAT IS ABOUT 12 WIRES OR SO,BUT YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFULL CAUSE THE DOOR TRIG CAN BE A POS TRIG OR A NEGITVE ONE.SAME WITH THE PARKING LIGHTS.AND IF YOU HAVE TO DO DOOR LOCKS WELL THAT CAN GET DEEP DEPENDING ON THE CAR.THEN IF YOU WANT DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION AND TRUNK RELEASE STUFF LIKE THAT IT CAN GET CONFUSING.NOW AN ALARM WITH ALL THOS FEATURES IN MY AREA OF PHILLY WOULD COST ABOUT BETWEEN 80-200 BUCKS DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU WANT NOT INCLUDING INSTALLATION.JUST WATCH WHAT YA GET AND HOW YA DO IT.<BR> LATER
