Amps

when it says an amp is 500 x 2... does that mean it's 2 channels of 250 or 2 channels of 500 totalling 1000watts... i'm confused about this can someone help me

If it says 500 X 2 then its 500 watts X 2 total 100 watts. But be careful, if it says 500 X 2 watt MAX its deceiving because you only should look at the RMA value, which is usualy half the max, so 200-250 watt RMS X 2.<P>But if its 500 X 2 watt and its a Pyramid amp or some other really low end brand its like 100 watt rms at most
