Bolting in Sub box in Trunk

Post by GMGQ »

Is it safe to bolt in my sub box into the trunk? The gas tank is under the rear passenger seats, right?
So would it be ok to drill some holes into the LEFT side of the trunk(driver side) for some bolts? Besides the gas tank, is there anything else I need to watch out for? LMK, thanks!
------------------
----
Gary Mui ( gary.mui@sinnovations2.com )
Sales Representative
Streamline Innovations 2
Vancouver, BC
604.312.9588
www.sinnovations2.com
mx3slimvisors.2ya.com

Well, I used some 1 inch screws to bolt mine down (it kept sliding around). I did not blow up my car and I have not smelled any gas leaks. I looked under the car and all I saw was the spare tire hump, so I guess the tank is somewhere else (probably under the rear seat).

Which side did you bolt it to? Driver side? How many bolts did you use?
Well I have to bolt it down because the insurance company will NOT cover a stolen sub, if it wasn't bolted down to the frame of the car.
Thanks.

quote:
Originally posted by RanMan:
Well, I used some 1 inch screws to bolt mine down (it kept sliding around). I went to Home Depot and got some small "L" brackets and put one on each side. My box is sitting against the back seat and the subs are facing the rear cargo area. I put one braket on the left side and one on the right side.
