I just got my springs...had to pay 82.24$ to get them..damn why are customs so expensive..to receive my manifold i had to pay another 95$ JUST FOR CUSTOMS..i hate them..i got theses 2 parts from ups..don't know why but ups seems to charge way higher than anybody..It's not the first time i order something from the us side but when it's not with ups i don't have to pay that much and sometimes i don't have to pay anything..Do you guys have a trick to save on customs fees?? I'm just so pissed right now..thought i had a deal but now with this extra fee i have pay more than if I would have bought them from a local speed shop.

From what I hear, you can mark it as a present if its under 50 pounds and it will go straight through and you will have to pay $0. I guess anything over that is checked but im not sure.

you can also ask that items are shipped as "commercial sample".
FYI brokerage fees are not the same as customs. In case you had to pay that. There's no getting out of that one. That's when you have to pay for an outside driver to haul your stuff. UPS uses brokers ALOT and makes you pay for it. FedEX seems to be the best IMO for cross-border shipping. when I got my headers it was taxes/shipping included, no fees, no customs.

FED-EX is the best way, I shipped my ECU that way and I wrote on the shipping bill "shipped for repair" to avoid any duties or taxes.

When possible, as the seller to ship using USPS.

In my experience the postal service is much better for cross-border shipments, but out of the two heavyweights FedEx beats UPS hands down.

UPS rapes you up the *** and then proceeds to steal your wallet.

Also, if you pay the extra $8, or whatever it is, to get the better shipping and faster service, you don't have to pay brokerage fees.

I shipped it to crapsport to have it re-programmed, "FIXING" the problem of not having the ZE programming in my K8 ECU. :)

I also had pipes ship me some body parts from australia, when I went to customs to pick up the package, I filled out the form myself, and wrote shipped for repair, I told the nice lady that they were defective auto parts that needed repair and then I would ship them back, since no money was changing hands there was no need for any duty. :)

But as bad luck would have it, the parts couldnt be repaired, so I will just have to install the E-spec front end on my car instead of shipping it back to australia. :)

I did have to pay a terminal charge of $40.00 from the airport since it was shipped air mail.

But when you go to FED-EX store and you want to ship across the boarder you have to fill out the customs declarition form, stating if its hazardus, had why its being shipped, so be creative, But dont lie, thats wrong ;)

Ask USPS or FEDEX..

If you got with UPS, ship it by AIR..

That's the way I save my shipping.. ;)

Well ask which companie they will be using, if its ups then say "no thanks I dont want to be raped" tell them its FED-EX or no sale. Talk to them and work something out.

I happen to like UPS... they have never treated me wrong, but I have never shiped anything over the boarder with them. Anything going out of country goes with USPS. I sent my haltech back to Aussi with 3-5 day for $43USD and FedEx wanted $123USD for it. After that Quote I never bothered checking with them again. I shiped my tranny to maine from florida using UPS and it only cost $50USD. I was afraid to even see what FexEx wanted for something 80lbs.
