It's just to let people know that it's not a regular GS/RS. Kinda like the GS-R's will pull up to the GS's and be like "Don't f--- with me, I drive a GS-R" Just one more thing to boast about.

i see your point, but with the 4 main motor swaps out there, i'd figure people would want to stand out from the rest....from the 4cyl stand point, either rs-x because it came from a gt-"X" or do like mits. does and put a t behind it (rs-t). i dunno. i was just wondering why the v6 and 4cyl use the same thing.

Think about that.. My '93 Mx-3 isn't mark down as a RS.. So I think I'll mark down the engine name (sp?)..<P>My Mx3 BPT ... Muahaha! :)

what annoys me is when people say "RS-R" or "GS-R" when they turbo it...make it GS-T!!! :p

"r" is a reminant of the riceboy community. not that if you call your mx3 a rs-r or gs-r you are a riceboy, but the first time i'd seen "the R" on a car was in their "scene".
