25k mi Synthetic Engine Oil

anyone ever heard about this brand of Synthetic oil: Amsoil.<BR>Someone is trying to sell me some, they say it will be good up to 25k mi [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img] <BR>don't know, but sounds like BS to me

it might last that long, however, your engine will probably burn it all off before you hit 25K miles. so you'll have to keep adding it. But Amsoil is good stuff.<P>Also, what they usually mean by 25K is that you can re-use the same oil when you change it, because you still need to do the filter every 5K.

There is no way you're gonna re use much oil on a K-series when you change the filter. It's on the freakin bottom below the front head. I've never tried it, but I'd be willing to bet that's going to drip a bit when the drain plug is in.

actually it's for a 99 Audi A4, 2.8 v6<BR>the car only has like 33k mi on it, and <BR>I would like to keep it for a while, so iam considering buying that oil, it comes out like $5 per quart.<BR>u think it's worth it, and is it really very good?

ok, i do change oil every 3k mi, so it's no big deal,<BR>here is the question: if the oil is dark does it mean it's time to change it? did it loose it's lubricating properties?

i use castrol syntec - 5w50. here in the frozen north it works real good.<BR>dark oil? time for a change!
