Mazda 626

Can anybody give me some pros/cons on the 626 (~1995 give or take a year or 2). My friend is looking into buying one. Is the L4 any good or should he avoid that? What are the main problem areas? Just basically, is he wasting his time looking at them? Thanks.

1993 models were an earlier generation i believe, but 95 and up were always reviewed as decent cars. Decent performance from the v6, sub-par performance from the i-4. They're smaller than other cars on the mid-size sedan market and the general consensus was that unless you a mazda fan there was no reason to buy it over comparable cars.
