K so I finally got around to look at the work that Mazda is doing. I see this rx-8 and love it looked both in the us and canadian sites and have some questions was just wondering if someone had another site or had read something about them.<P>As for specs that is all clear what i am moer interested in is the release dates in canada I know that the us see first light on in 2003 and is this the same for canada and does anyone know what the tag price would be? Just on the other side of things does this rotary engine run better than the stand cylinder engine I have read on them and understand that they have less moving parts and s--- but what is there advantage just to be nieve ( nevre driven an rx-7 that is why I ask ) this are the only questions that i have and that..... man it looks so good. thanks for your help.peace<P>Mike

Well, earlier rotary engines had problems with emissions and gas consumption. Also, N/A rotaries only lasted about 200,000 miles (if that) and Turbo engines about 150,000 miles (if that). However the new Renesis engine (250 N/A hp!) seems that it will last a while (if taken care of properly). The main downfall of rotaries is that people don't know how to take care of them. Plus a rotary engine is as powerful as an engine twice it's size (they're only 1.3 litres).

expect the tag to be around 35k.

I read it's going to be under $30K.

yea being that the rx-8 is suppose to be mazdas new flagship of style, luxury, and performance, i'm sure that the tag would run higher than the 30k mazda millenia.

Hey thanks for your help lads. I was able to finally talk to someone at my local Mazda. The tag is going to be 45 give or take depending on the place. I think that I can't hardly wait till the auto show to see it and maybe even place an order who knows lol. as for a site go to <A HREF="http://www.Mazda.ca" TARGET=_blank>www.Mazda.ca</A> and go into show room they have a great little set up for it there. Guy at dealership told me 45 to 50 (cnd).<P>He also said that they are working on a turbo sports model for 2004-2005.<P>THAT would be FREAKIN SWEET!!! Think, the renesis engine gets 255 hp and its NA. Think what even small turbo could do to that.
