Hello Guys.
I am new here. I have done a lot of search and i came to this.
I am buying a complete ford Escort GT fron the junk yard for $479. Engine has 78,000 Miles and it is a 5 speed.
I am planning to swap the engine and tranny into my 1993 1.6L SOHC Mazda MX-3 for now.
Later i will rebuild the engine and add a turbo.
I am good with computers, i mod xbox and Ps2, but i am not mechanically inclined like most guys here. I can fix basic stuff.
I am in Florida and i would like to know if there is some in FL who have done the swap and can help me. How long does it take etc...
Also, should i swap engine and tranny or just Engine. When i decide to go turbo where can i find the setup etc...
I need your help ASAP. I am planning on getting that car by Friday.

You can do the swap in a weekend with no problem.

Take the ECU, Engine wiring harness, tranny.

For the top drivers side tranny mount, you combine the MX-3 one and the Escort one. Use the top part from the MX-3 and the bottom part from the escort.

Everything LITERALLY bolts right in and plugs right up.

You should not have any problems!

Can i change the valve cover to a mazda one. I dont wanna the ford one. I should be doing the swap as soon as i find someone to help me.!

Yes you can.
If you are technically inclined-- I say do it yourself. There are TONS of "how to" guides for this swap.

i haven't done this swap but i've done others and i'm getting ready to do a bpt swap myself. if you need help jus tlet me know and i'll see what i can do.

What do you mean? The Speedometer? or the speedo gear or the speedo cable?

Either way-- None of that stuff will work in the MX-3.

hey are you the one that has the civic projective headlights on the mx-3?
