RS to BPT or KLZE.

Factors:
Lowest Cost
Best Power Gain
Least complications.

Scenario:
94 RS
exhaust removed
Engine out. all manifolds and mounts rotted.
need to replace:
Rad, tranny, brakes, clutch.

Why This Car.
Body is rustless and interior is decent, plus this is my car :)

what do you think. and if you say KLZE OR BPT please leave a link orn umber for a canadian source. I have been checkin jdmsource.ca and the KLZE is cheaper at this point. Im located near toronto. I am droppin this engine myself. im gonna have the pros do the exhaust and possibly the electrical and tuning if it gets to complicated. also the suspension is getting done after the engine is dropped.

oh my. while most would tell you just to do a search i have some time to spare... so...
In order to swap in a KLZE you need to change pretty much everything in the engine bay. check out http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/8175/4to6swap.htm
not the best choice IMO.
The BPT is a pretty strait forward swap.

but then again a very cost effective and feasable option to to rebuild your DOHC and turbo it as CJTHOR and Josh have done...

all of the above options could easily net you 200whp. but wouldnt it be so much funner to say "its only a 4-banger"? seriously though search around and talk to people. Corksport can source you motors and people have had OK luck with ebay...

IMO, which doesn't count for much, i would go with a bp swap.

slightly higher compression and a better flowing head are some of the reasons. on a budget? just grab the ecu and wiring harness from the pro lx/escort gt(protege gt in Canada?). once you get some time/money, you can turbo the bp, and get much better results than if you had a stock bpt.

fast and cheap doesn't really go together. both the bpt and klze will be 1000.00+ so i wish you luck. and merry x-mas
