how far can u go when gas light comes on? (appox.)

just curious. mine comes on and i seem to be able to go for quite a bit. never really tested but if anyone else ever has, it'd be alright to know.

When mine first comes on at about 220 miles. I drive on it till about 275. That's between 10-11 gallons. Tank is supposively 13, but I have never ran out of gas to see.

Good logic is that "its easier to keep the top half full than the bottom half". So I wouldn't know.

I can go almost 100 miles before i really start worrying...the light comes on way too damn early.

I've got about 120km (75miles) on the gas light (steady on) before the car sputtered to a stop (I brought the spare gas can with as I knew I would run out). I have done 75km+ on numerous other occasions.
I was only able to squeeze 46.8L into the tank afterwards too. That tank I was able to do a mediocre 587km (365miles) for an avg of 30.6MPG.

I've done 95km after the light, going about 120km/h. But Had to pull over and get gas cause I was out in the boonies and didn't have a gas can. Felt like that episode on Sienfield.............

I have a 94 RS... and I always thought it had a 10gallon tank... I always fill up between 9-10 after the gas light has been on for a while
