How to jack up car to add more tranny oil than normal?

Post by jumboplay »

This weekend I wanted to add extra tranny oil because it might be a bit low. What side or part of the car would you lift up to allow more fluid than the regular "full" line? I've read it on here somewhere, so surely someone knows from experience...

Thanks guys.

if it's to the fill line, it's not low. there is no need for more fluid hence the purpose of the fill line.

The fill line is very important to the life of your tranny. More than the recommended level of fluid will increase the pressure in the tranny and eventually blow out the seals. And having more than teh recommended fluid level will not give any advantage at all.

I changed my fluid a couple years back. I think perhaps I didn't put enough...I just used the capacity specs and didn't really use the line. I figure a little more can't hurt, especially it's been low all this time...

a little low is way better than a little over full. and you should fill it when the car is level, not one end higher than the other.
