wtf!!!!!!!valves????manifold leak??waht is it!

well anyways before i changed my water pump white smoke started coming out i knew i had to change the water pump cos the bearings were bad ...but the white smoke and water is oming out the exhaust people tell me its the vavles wtf does the valves have to do with the water cooling system???...other people tell me its a leak into the manifold blown gasket and stuff liek that but i cant figure out which one or if its either please respond

sounds like head gasket, check oil and see if its milky if it is its your head gasket

not necessarily.
You can still have a blown head gasket and not have milky looking water. If its a slow leak from one of hte water jackets into the cylinder then it'll burjn it up before enough leaks through the piston rings into the oil creating that milky color.
