You can make a lot of diffrent things work. The performance gain on a DOHC though is minimal. The largest restirction in the intake stream is the MAF. Its a firewire style and can flow good volumn. But it is still tiny.

Here are a few pictures of things i have crafted in the past. Thewe usually reuse plastic intake peice after the maf for a bunch of diffrent reasons but they are prone to crack easily and that will warrent there replacement.

This is a picture of a PVC intake. Its ghetto, but sweet jesus its cheap and the bends in it are smooth. Best part is the use of the duct tape. The intake actually pulls air from what used to be the vent for the battery. If you follow its snorkle down you find a nice cubby hole for a fitler and you can see what we enlarged to pull non engine bay air.

The 2nd picture is just a short ram we had to use for a bit before the pvc intake. This picture really shows the posistion of our relocated Overflow resivour. It fits snug and nice there but if you have cruise control its not a option.

:D

but should i upgrade the fuel system???to like a 21LBS an hour injector?? i was told that i might want to upgrade the fuel flow to compensate for the more airflow ...is this true....another question again will i get more power out of a long tube intake vs. a short tube intake

The stock fuel system should be able to handle it. For the most part stock systems run on the richer side of the line to begin with and can affoard more airflow.

Is there a larger MAF that can be used in order to increase air flow? Hopefully a swap that can be done?
This would be on a 94 1.6 i4, BTW.

Honestly i am not sure. Your best bet would be to find voltage paramaters for other airflow meteres and compair them. You would be surpired how mnay more will swap than people know about. I have come across documents as such on occasion. Its very apalling. I wish i would have jotted some of them down given my memory sucks.

As stated do the research first, just pluggin in a diffrent Maf could fry something.

I just want the answer, I don't want to research anything...

Just kidding. What voltages would I have to research? I am willing to research and post my findings here.
Just let me know what to look for.
Thanks

hehehe. A MAf is actually a Set of ssensors. Each one has a particular voltage that is its output range. You find out what the stock one is then find other sensors that operate in the same range.
