i have a 95 1.6L dohc automatic mx3. i eventually want to install a btp engine in the future. but not for a while. right now i want to swap it to a manual transmisson, a transmission that will work both on the 1.6 i got now and the bpt. can anyone tell me the easiest way about doing this? what transmissions fit both engines in my car? thanks

a protege transmission should fit bot engines from what I can tell.

what year and what model protege? can i use anything else from a prottege into my mx3 that is transmission related...linkage, pedal assembly, clutch cable, axles, shifter, etc for example?

1990-1994 Protege LX tranny will work. I used my shift linkage from my mx-3 on the protege tranny so im guessing its about the same. As for all the other stuff, you will have to go out and look for yourself.
