ECU DEAD HELP!!!

so i drove my car to school yester day when i left the car would not start.. it cracnks but will not start.. at first i thought FUEL PUMP but the people at my shop said its not the fuel pump its the ECU.. ok here is my question.. can i get a replacement ECU for my 4cyl SOHC for under 400 bucks.. that what the shop said it will cost.. alos is the a good time to upgrade my ECU.. if yes where do i get a good upgrade? i need to know fast please time is not on my side ...

your can get a used one at most wrecking yards for about 100 dollars. i know Cork Sport makes one for the SOHC but im not sure on price you will have to call them. and Changing the ECU is pretty easy, just a couple of 10 or 12mm nuts and a couple of wire clips to pull out. about a 10-15 minute job if your kinda slow or half a**ing it. pretty easy.

Where is the ECU located anyway?

Is it the same place on the RS and GS?
