ECU DEAD HELP!!!

so i drove my car to school yester day when i left the car would not start.. it cracnks but will not start.. at first i thought FUEL PUMP but the people at my shop said its not the fuel pump its the ECU.. ok here is my question.. can i get a replacement ECU for my 4cyl SOHC for under 400 bucks.. that what the shop said it will cost.. alos is the a good time to upgrade my ECU.. if yes where do i get a good upgrade? i need to know fast please time is not on my side :) ...

your can get a used one at most wrecking yards for about 100 dollars. i know Cork Sport makes one for the SOHC but im not sure on price you will have to call them. and Changing the ECU is pretty easy, just a couple of 10 or 12mm nuts and a couple of wire clips to pull out. about a 10-15 minute job if your kinda slow or half a**ing it. pretty easy.

Where is the ECU located anyway?

Is it the same place on the RS and GS?

yah, under the dash on the flore in the center, on the pasanger side.
