So my car was broken into again.....

Post by Andrew_Pakula »

And let me say good job you idiots! What did you manage to steal?
1. 6 cds in my cd changer
2. a Mag Flashlight
Now was it really worth all the effort breaking into my car to steal only friggen 6 cds and a flashlight?
It looks like it was the same guys probably that broke into my car back in early December, however this time they got practically nothing. I guess they were hoping that I had replaced all the stuff that was stolen before but I never did.
Well anyways eventually hopefully they'll get caught one day and as far as I am concerned they can rot in jail and burn in hell later.

you should hook up those garage sensor light things.. It comes with a sensor that will set off light....but it also comes with another light that you can attach right next to your bed...and when someone gets near your car... the sensor will set the light off that is right next your bed.. therefore causing you to wake up and run outside with your weapon of choice and cause chaos.

jeez man.. thats a tough spot.. Its hard to sleep for work the next morning when local trash is wandering the streets looking for cars to break into. Another plan I had for my own protection..was a set of those radio shack walkie talkies (200 dollars I think) ...and leaving one of them in the car with the button taped down and the other walkie next to my ear...and listening for dirtbags..

What you could do is make a little gadget with an LED that flashes every few seconds so that it looks like you have your car rigged with a security system. That's the cheap way to do it. Dont you just hate criminals who have no appreciation for the MX-3... ;)

Are 'spring' weapons illegal in canida? If not, there's a lot of things you could hook up to deteer theives!
I've seriously considered doing this, but it's illegal in america.
E-mail/PM me if you're interested, and I can build something for you.

I don't think a motion sensor will work so much anyway. I have them and someone tried to break into my car before (luckily it had its own alarm) but I would think it could just help the robber do his thing faster. A light beside your bed might not work so much either as it won't wake you up for a few minutes. Next to an actual car alarm that goes off when someone attempts to get into your car (instead of after they force the door open) then you should lock your car religiously and try one of those LEDs that blink to deter theft.

I am definately going to get a new alarm system installed, something top of the line. The alarm system I have right is a peice of garbage, the alarm doesn't even go off half the time when you open the doors while it is armed.

Small update,
I was looking around the parking garage and I discovered another car, an older Blue Nissan, which was semi-modified was also broken into.
His car however was in worse shape, it looks like they bent the frame of the door or something, maybe with a crowbar? I dunno and also his hood was partially up, well anyways his it looks like his subwoofer and amp were stolen.
Poor guy I don't think he's even noticed that his car has been broken into yet. I left him a letter on the car telling me car was broken into too and telling him to take his car to the cops to get the prints lifted. His car was a little dusty so there are several sets of prints on it. Hopefully he'll do that.
Dammit, I want changes here, I am going to be complaining and writing up a formal complaint to get them to make some changes with the security down there.

I think most of security system are pieces of s---.
Like mine, you need that "press here and there" code to start the car but my car is always park on a inclined street and you can start the car by using compression... so bye bye stupid security system.

Yeah an alarm is just a theft deturant (think I spelt that right)... unless you put one of those high pitch squeeler's, the ones that make your ears bleed if you are in the car too long, in your car... connected to the alarm. But still how much can you do...
Like the walkie talkies, get a baby monitor and put it in your car... might be cheaper.
You can only prevent so much, unless you sleep in your car...

Sorry to hear that. Ever think of trying one of those little wireless X11 or X10 cameras or whatever their called. and get the VCR taping thing. (I guess its just for the truely paranoid, but it really might not be such a bad idea)
Did you say you lived in an apartment? Were you told by the landlord that anything in the underground parkinglot was the owners responsibilty? If not, id go after him about the stolen stuff or atleast pressure him to install video cameras or something.
Just a thought.
Sorry about your stuff man.
