corksport bumper

I recently bought a corksport Mazdaspeed style bumper. I think that it's a real piece of crap. The body shop specialist who's installing ran into several problems mounting that piece of shat onto my car. He had to cut off part of the lower grill area to be able to fit it on the car flush. Then another problem came up. When the bumper was flush onto the car, there's a 1 inch gap between the headlights and the top of the bumper. Sorry about the length of this but i had to let everyone know that the MS style bumper is a real piece of shat.
------------------
i talked to derrick at corksport about my situation. i said that i already modified the bumper to fit and that it was still way off. he said he wants to help me out and that i should take a picture and email him. he was really nice about it. i thought that he would be tell me to go away since i already modified the bumper, but he didn't. all in all, good service but bad product. i hope this helps you.

Mine was as well..
Mine has about a 1/2 inch gap by the headlights, also. the passenger side front section has a small wave in the side. not real noticeable, but I notice it.
Pissed me off.. plus my side makers didnt fit.. I had to cut some of the inside of the bumper out. I emailed him about it, about 5 months ago. I never recieved a response. I said screw it. I cant send my bumper back , after I've had it 80% on my car. So I just left it on.

------------------
Barry Clark
Moderator
1995 Mazda Mx-3 RS
Chaste White
barrykclark.com
custommx3@usa.net

Barry, what kind of fog lights did you put on to your bumper and how much did they cost? And what did you use for your grill?

DAMMIT....I got this topic 1 month late.
Yep. I have one too. And its a piece of ****. It's really not the quality of the bumper, its the fact that you have to modify the hell out of it to fit the car (and all MX3's have the same front bumper...why the hell should I have to modify it?) If anyone wants to buy one, here is a list of problems you'll run into:
The sidemarker arent even in the bumper.
You have to cut the light housing part in the bumper.
The stock grill will not fit (the one on top.)
Basically, your looking at many modifications for a part that shouldnt need it. On another note...
THE SIDE SKIRTS SUCK TOO!
They are so bad I have yet to get them on my car. THey have to be molded, and you have to cut the door clip off to get it to fit.
God...I wish I saved another $100 and went with the FX Designs kit.....

okay, it seems like the corksport Mazdaspeed style bumper and sideskirts are causing everyone trouble. IT'S A PIECE OF SHAT. DON'T BUY IT. sure it looks like a bargain compared to the real Mazdaspeed ones, but they're a piece of shat.

I was waiting on this..
My grill was made from a material used in industrial air filters, My friends parents own a company that makes the filters and they gave me some scrap pieces. My fog lights are cheap.. they are made by Blazer, same ones a PILOT makes. I got them for about 50 bucks @ wal-mart. I made custom brackets to mount them.
As to the remark about the side markers. The mazdaspeed doesnt come with them. The mazdaspeed one comes with grills to replace the stock one. I knew this before I bought it. BTW the FX bodykit is just as bad of quality. Most of them do not mount up flush with the hood, and the front has to be re-enforced or it will break.
------------------
Barry Clark
Moderator
1995 Mazda Mx-3 RS
Chaste White
barrykclark.com
custommx3@usa.net
[This message has been edited by Custommx3 (edited June 05, 2001).]

Hey guys.. In corksports defense...I have personally bought like four or five things from them. I have had a few problems but Derrick and one of the other guys, I think it was like Ben or something, were totally great! They resent stuff and really helped out. One of the only places for our cars...Well thats my two cents...

Jarid Perry
94 Blaze red RS
15.05@96.7mph

I don't know if anyone noticed what I posted before, I said "bad product, but good service". I talked to Derrick and he said to take a couple pictures of the bumper on the car and he'd help me out. I don't have a problem with corksport, Derrick and everyone are great, its just that the quality of the bumper is real horrible.
