(I posted this in another topic because it is an unrelated problem, and may help future visitors diagnose this same problem quickly.)

I have a 1994 Mazda MX-3, 4 cylinder, 5-speed manual .

Whenever I travel on the interstate, travelling over 60mph, hence in 5th gear, the gear shifts to neutral automatically after about a half hour of driving. I press the clutch and put it back into 5th gear, and this pattern continues every 10 minutes are so. (Pops out of 5th gear to neutral, so I put it back in 5th gear). I got the clutch replaced almost 2 years ago--so it's probably not needing a new clutch.

Any idea what may be the problem?

Not a clue.. BUTTT what i would suggest doing is calling up a local transmission shop and asking them for a quote on fixing your problem. Just keep calling around someone is bound to slip up and tell you what it really is.

Check your fluid!!! thats what mine did before it ran dry and tore itself and my clutch to peices! hopefully u can save it.

put fluid in it and start looking for a new tranny cause thats wut mine did and it blew!!!!!!

I checked my fluid, and it's at adequate level (mid level)--so I dont think I need fluid--regardless I filled it up to Full. However, I think I may need to flush the fluid, as the fluid appears a little browner than normal. I posted another message, asking how to flush...cuz i dunno how.

Hopefully this fixes it. I'll keep you guys posted.

trust me u need to start lookin for a new tranny

did u check the actual transmission fluid or just the clutch brake fluid? becuase that is your question above. i suggest getting the actual transmission fluid levels checked.

I thought the clutch fluid and transmission fluid are the same? Same container? That's what someone told me? Not so? Where would the trans fluid be? The problem is getting worse--now it does that in other gears sometimes.
