4 banger RS:
92-93 = sohc 1.6L
94+ = dohc 1.6L

6 cyl GS:
92+ = dohc 1.8L

Also if I remember correctly, there were some 1.6L DOHC made in 1993.

Correct in 93 they started with the DOHCs, the earlier model 93s had SOHCs. in 94 all were DOHCs and the interior was changed due to airbags.

how about the interchangability between the internals of mx3 1.6 and the miata 1.6?

You might have some trouble with the flux capacitor of the serach button but evyerhting else should swap in a odd way or so

so any turbo items? or stronger internals / better internals from the miata 1.6 would fit in the miata 1.6?

What Torpedan is saying is...do a search . this has bee documented.
The B6 sohc lacks oile squiters for the pistons and supirior cam profiles. 94+ B6's(B6ZE I believe) have the oil squirters, better flowing head, AND two cams so they handle the air flow and exhaust flow better.
B6T engines have beefier rods and turbo cam profiles better able to handle the stress of turbocharging (i.e. detonation, longer exhaust stroke keeps the combustion chamber temps down, and avoids friction-combustion vs. ignited combustion).

Cheers

Go ahead and make up a good engine list for the mx-3 and I am sure it will be put in.
