Rust in cylinder #1????

My buddy's mx-3 is having a problem with blowing it's main fuse every 2-3 hours or so. So while we were troubleshooting that, we decided to change his plugs and wires because they were well overdue. When I pulled the plug wire out of cylinder #1, it was pretty much completely orange, I took a look down inside and it had appeared to have rusted inside..... now we both found this kind of strange and had never heard or seen that before. We know it's not causing his main fuse blowing problem, but does anybody know what would actually cause it to rust in there? Any ideas?

moistur(?spelling)+untreated open metal+oxygen=rust
its as simple as that. somehow water got into the hole and it correded itself. he might want the whole motor looked over.
i really hope its nothing too serious though man. good luck and i hope it turns out the best for ya.

are you talking about rust down in the cyl? or just in the spark plug hole?

it went down as far as I could see, now the light wasn't the best but it did appear to go right down into the cylinder......
